Get started

Install Valen, open the ClickGUI, and keep your setup current.

Requirements

  • A legitimate Minecraft: Java Edition account.
  • Minecraft 1.8.9 on Forge or Lunar Client.
  • Java 8 installed.

Forge

  1. Download the Forge loader from valen.cx/download.
  2. Move valen-loader.jar into the instance's mods folder.
  3. Remove older Valen loaders and agents from the instance.
  4. Launch Forge and enter your license key when asked.

Lunar Client

  1. Download the Lunar agent from valen.cx/download.
  2. Keep valen-lunar-agent-18.jar in a permanent folder.
  3. Open the settings for your Lunar Client 1.8.9 profile.
  4. Add the JVM argument below and change the path if needed.
-javaagent:C:\Valen\valen-lunar-agent-18.jar

Put quotes around the full argument when the path contains spaces. Add it under JVM arguments, not game arguments.

Remove the Forge loader from this profile before launching Lunar.

Using Valen

Join a world and press Right Shift to open the ClickGUI.

  • Left-click a module to toggle it.
  • Right-click a module to open its settings.
  • Use Profiles to save, load, or add a premade profile.

Open Modules when you need to understand a module or decide how to configure it.

Updates and removal

Forge

The loader fetches the current Valen build when Minecraft starts. Replace the loader only when the download page or support tells you to.

Lunar Client

The agent fetches the current Valen build when Lunar starts. When the agent changes, replace its jar without changing the saved path.

Remove Valen

Remove valen-loader.jar from Forge, or remove the -javaagent argument from Lunar Client. Saved profiles stay on disk.

Troubleshooting

Right Shift does nothing

Join a world, close other menus, and check whether another mod uses the same key.

The Lunar agent needs an update

Download it again and replace the existing jar at the same path.

Lunar cannot find its startup hooks

Use the 1.8.9 profile, keep the entry under JVM arguments, and check the jar path.

Another Valen loader is installed

Use one install method. Forge uses the loader; Lunar uses the agent.

The license is rejected

Check the key for spaces or typing mistakes. Contact support for expired, revoked, or machine-locked keys.

Logs and support

  • Forge: attach logs/latest.log from the affected instance.
  • Lunar Client: export the failed launch from Mission Control.

Include what you were doing and whether the issue happens again after a restart. Do not include your license key.
